Live Music Now: Interactive concerts for schools in Cornwall this April
This April, Chris Avery, is conducting a 'green tour' of Cornwall in April. He intends to walk, cycle or take public transport between venues. He has previously walked 870 miles across Wales with his band Filkins Drift, a tour that caught national attention. Chris is available 27, 28 and 29 April for participatory school concerts which are subsidised by the Clare Milne Trust.
Chris Avery is a Welsh-language guitarist and singer. He has toured the UK and Europe, playing on stages from Glastonbury to Shakespeare's Globe. As well as performing work, he works regularly in the community, writing songs with new parents, leading workshops in SEN schools, and running music sessions for mental health charities.
He is passionate about bringing Cymraeg (the Welsh language) to as many people as possible in an accessible way. He regularly brings the language into community work, and has even featured live on BBC Radio 2 and 3 singing Welsh folk song.
Live Music Now brings interactive musical performances to specialist schools and settings throughout the country.
Our professional musicians are trained to work with children and young people with additional needs, and will contact teaching staff in advance to find out about the interests and communication needs of their pupils, to ensure that concerts are tailored to each setting.
