ASONE Hub Opens Applications For New Roles
ASONE Hub is delighted to announce the opening of applications for three contracted roles and one internal opportunity. These roles support ASONE Hub’s evolving needs-based approach that will deepen overall impact and broaden its reach across schools and communities throughout Cornwall.
These newly structured roles are designed to identify need, strengthen programme delivery and increase meaningful and measurable engagement with schools.
Background:
ASONE Hub is the Hub Lead Organisation (HLO) for Cornwall and responsible for delivering its Local Plan for Music Education (LPME) in Cornwall, as set out by the Department for Education (DfE) in its National Plan.
As a commissioning Hub, we offer funding to music leaders, schools and organisations and support of the coordination of music projects, performances, and educational programmes that bring high-quality musical opportunities to young people across the county. Our commissioning model is designed to bridge gaps in access and opportunity - responding directly to local need. The aim is to deliver impactful short-term projects, and create legacy: embedding best practice, modernising pedagogy, and ensuring sustainable improvement in music education across Cornwall.
By working closely with schools, music leads and organisations, we ensure that every child and young person - regardless of background - can access meaningful music experiences. Whether it’s learning an instrument, joining an ensemble, or exploring creative music-making, ASONE Hub is here to identify, support and nurture talent to inspire a lifelong love of music.
Our programme is rooted in our commitment to enriching the cultural life of communities throughout Cornwall.
Opportunities Now Open:
Data and Evaluation Lead (Contracted Role) - A data analyst led short-term project focused on improving how the Hub collects, analyses, and uses data to understand access, participation, and progression in music education. The consultant will review current data processes, design and test a future-proof data capture system, and provide actionable insights aligned with DfE/ACE KPIs and the National and Local Plan for Music Education. This role includes delivering practical tools, reports, and recommendations, and ideally involves coaching an in-house team member to ensure the sustainability of this work beyond the contract period.
Secondary Music Development Lead (Contracted Role) – As secondary phase liaison, this role focuses on enhancing music education and progression routes for young people across Cornwall’s secondary schools, FE settings and ensembles. The consultant will lead on school and community engagement, support ensemble development, and promote inclusive, high-quality musical experiences for learners of all abilities and backgrounds. Working closely with the Head of Programme and other Hub Leads, the consultant will play a key role in increasing access to music education and development pathways, advancing equity and ensuring sustained progression through diverse and inclusive practice.
Music Technology and Live Production Strategy Development (Contracted Role) – This is the first phase in the early development of a Music Technology and Live Production Strategy for Cornwall. Recognising music technology as a valid instrument in its own right - and a vital part of contemporary music making - this work aims to ensure that music education keeps pace with rapid technological advancements. Building on recent investment and the creation of the region’s first music-tech ensemble, the consultant will assess current provision, engage with schools and communities and co-develop a roadmap to guide inclusive, skills-focused delivery through to 2030.
Primary Music Development Lead (Internal Role) – This primary phase liaison role focuses on supporting and strengthening music provision in primary schools across Cornwall and is central to the delivery of ASONE Hub’s School Engagement Strategy. The specialist will work to build strong relationships with schools - particularly those under-engaged - support non-specialist teachers to confidently deliver music education and increase access to inclusive, high-quality provision. Working collaboratively within the Hub team and with external delivery partners, they will champion the role of music in the primary curriculum and ensure that provision is responsive to local needs.
