Calling all ARBs: Help Live Music Now understand what music looks like and what's needed in ARBs
Live Music Now have received a grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council to deliver a one-year project in partnership with the University of South Wales. The project, titled "Musical Connections: Nurturing Musical Cultures in Autism Resource Bases Across the UK through Participatory Action Research" is building on the existing programmes they've delivered in Autism Resource Bases over the last 3 years funded by Youth Music, and they aim to deepen our understanding of the barriers to music provision within ARBs. You can find more about the project HERE.
This week Live Music Now launched a survey HERE and they hope to reach as many ARBs across the UK as possible. The aim of the survey is to:
- Understand what music provision currently looks like in ARBs,
- Identify barriers, challenges and gaps that they're facing,
- Highlight where opportunities and good practice already exist,
- Understand how we and others can work to increase opportunities.
It's essential that the survey reaches as many ARBs as possible, as the data will be crucial in directly shaping how we develop, signpost and influence policy for music opportunities for autistic young people across the UK.
