This February, we celebrate LGBT+ History Month

Published on February 13, 2023
LGBT+ History Month takes place every February.  It is a month long celebration of LGBT+ history and the history of gay rights and related civil rights movements.  It aims to promote and celebrate equality and diversity for all LGBT+ people.  The theme of this year’s history month is #BehindTheLens and celebrates LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to cinema and film from behind the lens. This includes directors, cinematographers, screen writers, producers, animators, costume designers, special effects, make up artists, lighting directors, musicians, choreographers and beyond.

We have pulled together just a few resources and information to get you started:
Royal Cornwall Museum is celebrating 15 years of Cornwall Pride with an exhibition and programme of events exploring the history of Pride in Cornwall.  This event is running until 25 February.
