ASONE Hub Completes the First Stage of a Staff Restructure and Recruitment is Now Open
Restructuring for the future
Over recent months ASONE Board and Directors have undertaken a comprehensive review of how ASONE Hub functions to support music education in Cornwall. We have worked with a specialist human resource (HR) consultant to help us understand the skills and gaps within our existing team.
This review comes after a year of continuous improvement in underpinning management systems followed by a human resourcing review. The subsequent feedback and consultation period has supported the Directors of ASONE Perform CIC in making the difficult decision to restructure
After a period of consultation with the ASONE Hub team and a subsequent period of reflection and refinement; roles that would support a restructured organisation were circulated to all ASONE Hub employees that will:
- Better support consortium delivery
- Be more open and transparent
- Expedite access to services
Sadly during this process three members of the team felt that the different approach to managing resources and subsequent job roles were not for them and have chosen to resign or not apply for the newly structured positions.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Tanya Moore, Chantelle Moore and Julia Knight Bennet. Their dedication and years of service to the Cornwall Music Education Hub, (now ASONE Hub) and their commitment to shaping the musical landscape of Cornwall has left a profound and lasting legacy.
A new and more efficient style of delivery
The focus of this restructure and recruitemnt drive is to increase our strategic and human resources, improve digital media management and administration systems, improve data collection practices and reporting and introduce a transparent tendering process for all Strategic Partners, Independent Deliverers and Consortium Members.
We will also continue to remove unnecessary bureaucracy, freeing up valuable time for organisations, practitioners and teachers.
Best practice and building on innovation
During the planning and design of the restructure, great care was taken to preserve the successful activity and practices that have evolved over several years. We also mapped innovation, EDI (Equality Diversity and Inclusion) and quality assurance processes from outstanding Muisc Hubs that include Birmingham, Brighton and Hove, Liverpool and Bristol Beacon, whilst acknowledging the challenges of Cornwall’s rural geography.
