ASONE Hub is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for school funded projects for the academic year 2024/25. This initiative aims to support schools in delivering innovative and impactful music projects that enhance the educational experience of students across Cornwall.
The previous year saw the culmination of a thorough review of the First Access programme, driven by feedback from schools and First Access deliverers. This comprehensive evaluation led to the creation of a new programme of funded projects for Key Stage 1, 2, and 3 pupils, focusing on empowering and enabling pupils, school staff, and deliverers through progression and continuation routes, as well as high-quality CPD training.
Learning to play a musical instrument offers numerous benefits that extend far beyond the realm of music itself. Research has shown that musical education can enhance cognitive abilities, improve academic performance, and foster important life skills such as discipline, perseverance, and time management. Moreover, playing an instrument provides an outlet for self-expression and creativity, boosts self-confidence, and promotes social interaction and teamwork. By participating in music projects funded by ASONE Hub, students not only gain proficiency in music but also develop essential skills that will serve them well in all aspects of their lives.
To qualify for funding, schools are required to complete a data submission for their school, as it forms part of statutory reporting to the Department of Education and Arts Council England. Additionally, schools must submit the relevant application form at least 6 weeks before the start date of the project. The grant is available only to LA and former LA schools.
The available projects for the academic year 2024/25 include:
-
EYFS/KS1 Inspiration Project
-
KS2 First Access Project
-
KS3 Progression Project
-
KS2 Music Technology Gateway Project
-
KS3 Music Technology Pathway Project
Schools have the freedom to choose the deliverer for their projects, provided they are approved by the Hub. However, it is essential to confirm the deliverer's availability before beginning the application process.
We encourage schools to seize this opportunity to enhance their music education offerings and provide enriching experiences for their students. Applications for funding are now open - deadlines for each term can be found here: SCHOOL PROJECT FUNDING | ASONE Hub (asoneperform.com).
