NEW Music Tech Ensemble starts soon!

Published on August 29, 2024
Music Technology is redefining the boundaries of music performance, with a growing number of artists embracing its innovative possibilities. From icons like Ed Sheeran and Björk to rising stars such as Youngr and Marc Rebillet, technology has become an integral part of live music, enhancing performances with loop pedals, synthesizers, digital audio workstations (DAWs), controllers, and much more.

Starting on Sunday 8th September at Hayle Academy, a new Music Tech Ensemble for young people will launch, offering an exciting opportunity for music technologists, singers, songwriters, and musicians to dive into this evolving field. Run by Si Gordon of Black & Gold Audio, this ensemble is set to be a vibrant space for artists eager to explore and master the latest music tech tools, while developing their performance skills in a collaborative environment.

Highlights of the Music Tech Ensemble:
  • Master the Gear: Participants will get hands-on experience with cutting-edge music technology. This is a fantastic chance to learn how to incorporate new equipment into your performances and give your music a fresh, modern edge.
  • Practical Skills: Led by industry professionals, the ensemble will offer practical training on integrating technology into live performances. You'll gain valuable skills and insights on using various tech tools to enhance your musical creativity.
  • Connect and Share: This ensemble is not just about technology; it’s about building a community. Meet other young musicians who share your passion for music tech, exchange ideas, and collaborate on projects. This networking will be invaluable for your growth as an artist.
  • Confidence with Tech and Performance Techniques: Each week, you'll build confidence in using new hardware and performance techniques, helping you stand out as a performer. The skills you gain will be essential for showcasing your talents effectively.
  • Perform at Key Festivals and Events: As part of the ensemble, you’ll have the opportunity to perform at various festivals and events across Cornwall throughout the year. This will not only showcase your new skills but also give you real-world performance experience.
