Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra: Set Works Live! | Thursday 16th October | Newquay
Inspire your students with the excitement of live music at the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s KS4 Concert and Come and Play - an unmissable chance for KS4 learners to experience a world-class performance created to complement the GCSE & BTEC Music curriculums.
The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is one of the UK’s most respected ensembles, celebrated for its exceptional performances and dedication to music education. For more than 100 years, the BSO has captivated audiences across the South-West, committed to sharing the joy of music with everyone.
Their innovative education and outreach work is designed to connect with young people, nurturing creativity, building confidence, and encouraging students to discover music in new ways.
This year working in partnership with Newquay Tretherras, the Lead School for Ensemble Development, is the chance to Come and Play in the morning, with instruments and voices, to join up with the BSO players and form a massive super-orchestra and we will learn Toto’s Africa and Queen’s Seven Seas Of Rhye in adapted arrangements. As well as being a blast, we can look at great ensemble performance techniques, rehearsal techniques and dive into those two pieces - one each from the most popular exam boards used by Cornish schools.
In the afternoon will be a concert performed by the Bournmouth Symphony Orchestra especially for KS4 students.
