The Writers' Block are launching a new after school club next month, offering space for creative children to write, play, act, sing and create. Each block is led by a different creative professional with a focus on storytelling.
After School Story Makers: Creative Club for 7-11s | Wednesdays 4.14pm-5.30pm | £15 per term | The Writers' Block, The Ladder, Clinton Road, Redruth, TR15 2QE
Join The Writers' Block after school for a fun and inspiring creative writing club for 7–11-year-olds. Each week, children will explore imaginative stories, develop their writing skills, and share their ideas in a friendly and supportive environment.
- 1st October – 22nd October: Drama & writing for performance: Playwright Sarah Connors will spark young imaginations in a performance focussed after-school club. Learn scriptwriting and performance techniques through drama games and create and perform short scenes inspired by The Writers’ Block story prompts
- 12th November - 10th December: Song writing: Join artist and musician Natasha Kozaily (of Baby Bushka) on a journey of song writing. We’ll explore a range of music from popular folk songs of the Cayman Islands to the literary anthems of Kate Bush, and turn our hands to creating our own words and songs inspired by Cornwall and our own lives and interests.
All abilities of writing welcome, just bring a love for story!
