The BBC Young Composer Competition 2025 is open now.

The BBC is looking for music creators aged 12–18 who make their own sounds – whether that’s a beat on a laptop, a song in their bedroom, a classical symphony, or something completely new. No single genre, no set style – just original music and bold ideas. 

Winning entrants will:

  • Collaborate with the BBC Concert Orchestra
  • Develop their work with professional mentors
  • Hear their music performed or broadcast by the BBC 

Deadline: Thursday 25th September 2025, 4pm 
 
Applications can be made on the BBC Young Composer Competition website.

Clore Duffield Foundation: Year 2 Applications Now Open for the School

The Foundation is excited to announce that applications are open for Year 2. The grant programme will remain in Blackpool and Cornwall for another year to maximise the impact of the funding in both regions. The programme is open to schools in Blackpool and Cornwall with 28% or more free school meal eligible students.
