KS4 Music Live
Once again, members of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Patrick Bailey, BSO Associate Musician, presented two concerts for KS4 Music students at Launceston Town Hall (Thursday 17 November) and at Truro Methodist Church (Friday 18 November). Patrick is also the Hub’s Secondary Lead and supports music departments across the county.
Patrick led the audience through a musical tour through history with performances of:
- Music for a while – Henry Purcell
- Clarinet Concerto Finale – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
- Defying Gravity from Wicked the Musical – Stephen Schwartz
- Land of Plenty – William Goodchild
Young Cornish musicians – Imogen, Anna and Izzy – performed as soloists with the BSO ensemble for three of the pieces and did so with professionalism and confidence. Patrick provided an analysis of each piece to help expand our musical knowledge.
Following a short interval, Patrick then led a live composition session and analysis based on ideas sent in by the attending schools. The BSO closed the concert with a performance of the “completed” composition.
